Hi there I wrote this article to share with you a few things I like AND dislike about the Preethi Eco Twin and where you can save a bunch of money on it...
The first thing I really like is that this product has virtually eliminated the need to have other grinders in the kitchen because its a multi-purpose tool. Similar products have always caused a bit of a struggle because they just couldn't do all the different jobs that the Preethi Eco Twin can do.
The motor is pretty strong, at 550 watts it grinds and mixes rather quickly, but the nice thing about the motor is that it has been UL approved for safety, something that competing products don't really offer. Basically, its nice to be able to grind chutneys without worrying about the motor burning down or being a hazard.
There is one issue with this thing, and that is you can't really overload it otherwise it just won't work well. If you're grinding a thicker batter its best to fill it up to a quarter jar at most.
One really cool feature is the flexi lid, which I can use to convert the 1.50 liter jar to a 1 liter jar. There's also a separate jar for making chutneys and this one converts from .50 liter to .3 liter using the flexi lid.
I love the fact that the blade on the larger jar is detachable, allowing for easy cleaning. By the way, its best to clean the blade immediately after making your chutney or batter otherwise it becomes more difficult to clean.
Now, if you're into making smoothies and all types of crazy fruit and vegetable juices than it can be used as a blender to whip up some really healthy drinks! The fact that it can replace act like a juicer/extractor is just an added bonus.
As far as looks go, it fits with pretty much any decor and I like how it complements the kitchen counter and other appliances. Being small & light-weight, its easy to put away and move around.
Finally, the last thing I wanna say is that this tool has really been a great help in not only preparing Indian food, but also in making food taste more delicious. For that reason, I think its well worth the price.
